People often ask us why our web site is covered with origami. For us, origami is the perfect metaphor for what we do, for the role we play in the innovation process.
Origami starts with a single sheet of paper — something about as ordinary as it gets. And yet, hidden in every sheet is a world of possibilities. All we need to do is see beyond the current 2 dimensional form. If we can peer into that infinite set of possible futures then we can imagine something great. That vision beyond ‘what is’ and into ‘what could be’ is the first step in a transformation that can be beautiful, astounding and differentiating.
Naturally, innovation in business works much the same way. We need to keep reminding ourselves that what we see is only ‘what is’. That’s where your business is today. That’s who your customers are, what your technology does, and the ecosystem you are a part of — today. And that’s fine.
But the possibilities hidden in ‘what is’ are infinite. We just need to work with you to uncover those other dimensions, to collectively imagine what could be, and to guide the folds and twists that reshape ‘what is’ into ‘what could be’.
That’s what we do.
Many thanks to the artists who made their origami images available under this creative commons license. They include: the frog, crane, bull, horse, and gecko.
